Rueda Exchange Festival

Lafrique is proud to host its 7th Rueda Exchange Festival from June 18 to Sunday 20 - 2027!

This 3-day international festival is for Salsa Cubana dancers, Rueda enthusiasts and Rueda dance groups. The purpose of this event is to mingle with other Rueda dancers, learn new figures, exchange patterns, participate in workshops from known Rueda instructors and just have fun.

Friday 18th - Lafrique XXL Summer SBK Party

This festival starts on Friday evening with the Lafrique XXL Summer SBK Party! Choose from 8 SBK-workshops and dance at 3 dance areas, Salsa LA / Bachata, Kizomba and Salsa Cubana. Get blown away by 5 fantastic djs, 3 amazing shows and animations.

Saturday 19th - XXL Cubana Party and 2 SBK areas

On Saturday we continue with 5 workshop rounds, socializing and dinner. In the evening we have 1 more round of workshops and then we dance all night on 3 dance areas. Area 1: 100% Salsa Cubana, Area 2: Salsa LA/Bachata, Area 3: Kizomba mix.

Sunday 20th - Cuban Sunday

The Sunday is a jam-packed day too! We start with 4 rounds of workshops, followed by a Matinee with live music! Then we close the weekend off with food & drinks in the sun ☀️

Demos and shows

Join with your Rueda group and give a demo or show! On Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon you can take the spotlight and dazzle the audience with your cool moves! Contact us for more info.

Practical information

!! No sharp heels allowed !!
Akoesticum is very proud of its pristine wooden floors. Please leave your high heels at home. Heels with a surface area above 2x2cm are fine.

WORKSHOPS

On Saturday and Sunday you have 40 workshops to choose from! At every time slot there are workshops at four different levels: open level, beginner, intermediate and advanced. All workshops are given by enthusiastic dancers and performers.

SHOWER, EAT and SLEEP

Shower
During the festival there are 4 shower rooms available to freshen up. Bring a towel and a clean shirt and dance all day long!

Food
On Saturday and Sunday there is a food truck at the festival for lunch and dinner. You can buy your food here or go to restaurants nearby.

Breakfast
Breakfast is included in the sleepover price.

Sleep
There are several rooms available at Akoesticum for you to sleep over. You can choose between a private bedroom (with 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 beds) or a shared bedroom. All bedrooms come with a private toilet and en suite bathrooms. You will be provided with bed linen upon arrival to make your own bed. Towels and breakfast are included.

Please note:

  • Our media team will be capturing the event for promotional and archival purposes.
  • No high heels allowed on the dance floors of Akoesticum!

About the prices
You may have noted that the prices have gone up substantially. This has 4 reasons.

  1. VAT is up from 9% to 21%. This adds 15 Euro to a weekend pass.
  2. Indexation is high, 5%. This adds another 7 Euro to a weekend pass.
  3. Despite being sold out, we made a substantial loss on last years event and we need to make sure that doesn't happen again.
  4. We can't raise the turnover by letting in more people. The capacity of Akoesticum is limited.

For all of these reasons, unfortunately, we have to raise the ticket prices.

Discount codes
Nevertheless we want this festival to be affordable for all. For that reason we have discount codes (ask us). We encourage you to use it if you need to, but kindly ask to consider doing without and support us in keeping the Rueda Exchange Festival accessible for all!
